LVL5 ALERT! NON-HUMANS ESCAPE FROM DISTRICT-9!

District 9 is by far the movie that has me most excited this summer. What about Harry Potter, you ask? HP6 was my most anticipated movie of the winter of '08. It's had its time in my spotlight, I had to scoot it out and make room for the new stuff.

I love the way they are handling the marketing for District 9. Realism obviously is what can sell someone on a sci-fi movie, and this movie could not look any more socially satirical towards many countries facing the same sort of discrimination.

This movie is from Peter Jackson by way of Neill Blomkamp, the team behind the Halo adaptation that for some reason studios shot down regardless of the money it would ineveitably make them. You're all familiar with Peter Jackson, but Blomkamp is far from a household name, although I think this will put him on the map. I implore you to FOLLOW THIS LINK and check out his short called 'Alive in Joburg'. It's beautiful and tragic and clearly the basis for D-9.

The newest viral 'trailer' for District-9 hit yesterday and it did nothing but make me shake with glee that a movie like this is getting so much recognition.
