The Crazies

Just a day after the teaser poster was released, a full blown trailer for The Crazies found it's way onto Apple.com. Upon a second viewing, I think the trailer actually looks really good. The film stars Timothy Olyphant and Radha Mitchell, who I've loved since I saw her crawling into a bug hole in Pitch Black, as a couple who are trying to survive in a town not only overrun by what are essentially raged out people a la The Signal, but also military forces sent into the town to contain whatever it is that is happening.
My beef with this trailer is one shot that essentially gives away the ending, well at least I think it gives away the ending. And it's a remake so I think everyone should watch the original first, but putting a shot like that into the trailer just seems sort of dumb to me. I mean look at the trailer for Quarantine. The final shot of the film is stuck not only in the trailer, but it was on the damn poster. Stupid. And oh yeah, an open message to Hollywood about using Gary Jules' Mad World cover in your horror trailer. Cut it out. Love, Filmociraptor.
The Crazies looks well shot and like it will have some really solid imagery going on so I'm officially excoted to check this one out. Peep the trailer in pant tightening HD over at Apple.com.
