Halloween 3D means I'm quitting Hollywood

This weekend Rob Zombie's "vision" of the Halloween series concluded, bringing in  a completely lackluster $17.4mil, bowing at only the third spot for the weekend unable to beat what I'm sure is a far worse movie The Final Destination, or take down Tarantino's WWII fiction Inglourious Basterds, now in it's second weekend. But because the movie only took $15mil to make, it's already making money for The Weinstein Company who are moving forward with Halloween 3D to be released in no more than 1 year.

That's a hell of a turnaround target, which say to me, along with the horribly gimmicky title, that this movie is going to be complete dog shit. It's like Bob and Harvey Weinstein say the weekend numbers and said "It was 3D we were missing. That must have been it." No guys. What was missing was a good base flick, and Zombie's first Halloween was almost entirely absent of good, so obviously the sequel that was already being branded as worse than the original isn't going to make that much.

The company is talking to an as yet unnamed director:

who has experience in horror and has a "different take" on the franchise.

So look for Halloween 3D from Uwe Boll in Summer 2010.
