Christopher Nolan one step closer to the Bat Man
Cine Fools caught up with the producer of Funny People, Barry Mendel, last week to chat with him about his upcoming project The Prisoner, which may or may not be worth talking about. The reason being that The Prisoner is based off a 60's TV show, and is being adapted into a series now starring Ian McKellen and Jim Caviezel, which looks pretty rad if you got to see the 7 minute teaser that dropped for it a few weeks ago.
The real point of this article is to let everyone know that the slated director for The Prisoner big screen adaptation was Christopher Nolan, until just recently when he dropped off the project. Currently deep in production on his next film, Inception, Nolan dropping off of The Prisoner means that he may be freeing up some space on his calendar to throw on his cape and cowl and make us a damn Batman 3.
SPECULATION! It's perfectly likely that Nolan will just hop on another project after he wraps Inception and just wait until he feels the time is right because something tells me Warner Bros. will wait for him. Not even a whisper of real news about a script or anything yet so chances are it's still at least 2 years from any logical release date, but I've got my ear to the ground now that there's a big empty space in Nolan's schedule. You'll be updated often.
