AVATAR preview crashes Foxes servers
The sad story of my life currently involves a plan for me to be at a theater showing the 15-minute Avatar preview, and not being able to see it myself.
For those of you who are blissfully unaware, this Thursday evening at IMAX theaters around the country James Cameron is premiering a 15-minute teaser for the film to create even more buzz around the project that is 10 years coming. It will ONLY be shown in IMAX 3D so if you were lucky enough to get your hands on some tickets you will be in for a treat. Also, it's absolutely free, so if there are tickets left then you should go get some.
Hilariously though, when they launched their program to start distibuting tickets, so many people flocked to the official website that the servers couldn't handle the traffic and said "Fine fuck you, we're shutting down." Fox has since gotten their site back up and it's running smoothly.
If you have the time on Thursday and are interested in seeing the "revolutionary" footage for yourself then head on over to avatarmovie.com/ticketing and check your area. All NH and Mass friends should check it out because there are currently tickets available.
In other Avatar news, Apple.com/trailers has added a countdown til Thursday when they will release the first official trailer for the film for anyone unable to find there way to the real show. Don't be surprised if their servers crash too, but something tells me that Apple has their shit together more so than the company who cancelled Firefly, and is producing the Cleveland Show. Idiots.
