WARNER KOMBAAAAT!
Video game developer Midway has been in a bit of a slump for a while which unfortunately for them spells fatality. Thankfully for us, the on-lookers just waiting to see what sort of zany antics Hollywood will get itself into next, a caped crusader in the form of Warner Brothers has swooped in to purchase Midway thusly preserving our chances of getting yet another Mortal Kombat film.
Plagued by courtroom dramas not made entertaining by the likes of Harry Anderson and Richard Moll, the sale to Warner for a measly $33mil was finally approved by a judge, says the Chicago Tribune.
I think I speak for the greater population of America when I say PHEW! The prospect of a Mortal Kombat-less land is more than any human should have to bear. And with Warner Bros. wrapping up the last of the Harry Potter money train, they'll be looking for something to replace that cash stream. The only logical step is to start cranking out Mortal Kombat films. Not to mention they also officially have the rights to Spy Hunter, and the classic ride-around-on-ostriches game, Joust. If we see a joust movie in my lifetime, I'll be able to die happy (read: horribly diappointed at the state of the film industry.)
