Clooney chasing Jack Ryan
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan has been dormant for a while and with Harrison Ford aging, and Ben Affleck admonished for his role in the Sum of All Fears, curiosity is starting to stir about who may tak over the post as the famous action charater.
Well, a brief mention in a much longer article over at the Daily Beast says that George Clooney is making his interest known early should the chance ever arise for another Jack Ryan vehicle.
A source says he expressed interest in playing Jack Ryan when and if Paramount attempts to revive the Tom Clancy series. Clooney seems to recognize that at this time in the world and this time in his life (he’s pushing 50), it’s time for some commercial maintenance.
George Clooney at this point in his life could get a few of these movies under his belt before he starts to roll down the hill he's about to climb over. But only if they start making movies now. Another couple years and his window will have past.
Clooney could make a great Jack Ryan, but I'd have liked to hear that he wanted to do it for himself, and not for "Commercial Maintinence." Do you think Clooney could wear Harrison's shoes?
