WRITE NINJA WRITE NINJA WRITE!!

CHILDREN OF THE 80's REJOICE!! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is about to make a serious comeback, and not in the way the 2007 animated feature tried to bring them back. We're going to see a full blow, live action Ninja Turtle resurgence, and guess who is writing it...this guy to the left, John Fusco.

Ok, so he's not exactly a writer who is going to get anyone excited. He does have some recognizable pieces on his resume, but nothing outwardly spectacular, depending on how you feel about Hidalgo. Fusco also scribed the 80's hit Young Guns and it's sequel, and most recently the Jackie Chan/Jet Li martial arts epic The Forbidden Kingdom.

However, Fusco has loads of experience in martial arts which hopefully will lead him to write in some good action, but that all depends on the way the director and stunt coordinator do their jobs, so this writer does nothing for me. IMDB does list his most interesting piece of trivia as the fact that he is friends with Bon Jovi, and there's nothing more exciting to me than Bon Jovi's friends.

Planned as an origins story, this iteration of TMNT supposedly will follow the style of the original comics which were much more adult, meaning it'll be darker and more violent. As much as we love the movies we already have, it will be nice to see this version grow up to accomodate the fans of the films who are now much older.

Head on over to Variety for the full story, and look for the bigger, badder Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2011.
