Lots of casting on this lovely rain soaked AM

Seems like the only news I've seen all morning is casting news, so here's the latest ot of Hollywood.

THR is reporting that Amy Adams is wrapping up negotiations to star along side Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale in David O. Russell's The Fighter. Set in what will probably be a late 80's Lowell, MA, the movie centers around a boxer, Mickey Ward (Wahlberg), and his drug addicted, trainer brother, Eklund (Bale). The movie is set for release in 2011, so we've got some time before we have to listen to Bale butcher an Irish/Boston accent. "Pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd, eh mate?"

Next on the docket is the always outstanding Guy Pearce. Co-written by Guillermo del Toro, who regardless of just how much I hear about him I never get sick of, the retelling of the classic TV series Don't Be Afraid of the Dark has just added Guy Pearce to the list of talent pushing this project along. Starring opposite Pearce will be the "awww how cute"-inspiring Bailee Madison, and the "awww enough already"-inducing Katie Holmes.

The Hollywood Reporter has this brief description, and a full write up after the jump:

"Dark" is based on a 1973 ABC telefilm about a young girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and discovers they are sharing the house with demonic creatures.

Last up, Kevin Smith shows us just how many Dicks he has. Recently added to the Bruce Willis/Tracy Morgan vehicle A Couple of Dicks is Michelle "Harriet the Spy" Trachtenberg, and the endlessly entertaining, but no surprise that he's showing up here, Jason Lee. Lee is a long time staple in Kevin Smith movies so this is wholly expected, but Trachtenberg came out of nowhere. I haven't seen her in anything since the dog shit remake of Black X-mas, but she's a welcome addition as she's both hot, and has the capacity to be hilarious. Thanks to Variety for breaking the news on this one.

And that's about all the casting news I can give a shit about this morning.
