Warner Bros. flexes for Comic-Con
And fuck me if I'm not wishing with all of my soul to get their. Comic-Con has become the sort of cool kids table in the cafeteria for producers to show shit about their movies, or screen them, or do whatever they want. The internet is the nerdy table, film festivals are the prissy academics (especially that snooty douchbag Cannes), and Comic-Con is the cool table of kids who are friends with everyone that you don't need to be wearing a suit to hang out with. And Warner Bros. is taking advantage of that.
They will be screening the finished, 3D version of The Final Destination, which I'm sure will be straight up terrible, but people will gobble it all up because "OMG the deaths were soooo kewl LOL". I think more people will be more interested in the WB presentation where we'll hear about and possibly see some footage from the biggest guns they could find on their back lot. Including: Where the Wild Things Are, The Book of Eli starring black gold Denzel Washington, The Nightmare on Elm Street reboot (YES, PLEASE!), The Box, with separate smaller presentations for Jonah Hex with Josh Brolin and slutsicle Megan Fox, and the GREAT looking Sherlock Holmes, Guy Ritchies latest.
So with all of these great movies on the line up for WB, I can't wait for July 24th just to get a sneak peak. It'll be interesting to see what other companies are going to bring to the table now that this bar has been set.
What would you like to see come out of Comic-Con?
