Ghost Rider 2 Inbound, Everybody Hide!
Perhaps there is no phrase anyone can utter that would cause quite the amount of bile to crawl into my throat as "Ghost Rider 2" does. Nic Cage and his flamy headed alter ego torched any sort of need I could ever have for them to take another shot at the Ghost Rider franchise, but that's not going to stop them from trying.
MTV was maybe a little too nice to David Goyer when talking about the films recently. I mean, they didn't even tell him it was totally dog shit, what kind of people are they? What they did get out of him though was that for the sequel we can expect a very different, much darker film.
"It's not exactly a reboot. I hate to say it's more realistic, because he's got a flaming skull for a head, but it's a bit more stripped down and darker. It's definitely changing tone."
The film will take place eight years after the first film and while it won't disrupt any of the continuity to the original, it won't be referencing it either. Goyer said, "we're pretending that our audience hasn't seen the first film." There's no pretending involved, David. No one saw that terrible movie, so I think you're good to go.
There's no dates or connected talent so this is obviously very early in pre-production, but the script has been finished for years and apparently they think it's time to dust it off.....I disagree.

Coincidentally, I just saw the first Ghost Rider last weekend. You're pretty much right; it was a bit silly (but the effects were pretty). Too bad; Nick Cage is da bomb, but kinda bombed on that one. I'll hope they mean it when they say the next one will be better. Great review....Everybody Hide! Perfect.
