Last week, James Cameron appeased the nerd masses with a three and a half minute trailer for his upcoming film you may have heard about called Avatar. What went slightly more unnoticed was the FOUR and a half minute featurette released onto the Avatar Youtube channel the same day.

The footage shown is just as, if not more impressive than the stuff we've already seen in the couple of previously released trailers. Not only does it give us an even deeper understanding of Jake Sully's (Sam Worthington) storyline, but we also see even more of the vast and rich world of Pandora. We already know Pandora is incredibly lush, but the featurette showcases lands even more vivid than anything we've seen so far. It's as if someone just dumped a bucket full of the entire spectrum of color onto a jungle and then made it all glowy and shiny. It's beautiful. And the more and more I see of the Na'vi, the more real they look especially here where you can see how natural they look when they speak.

But let's be honest, you're all way more excited to see the action, and while you do get some pretty excellent glimpses at some animals flying around and a mech suite gearing up for a back alley knife fight, the focus is mainly James Cameron and how awesome he is for finally making this a reality. It turns out to be quite an interesting watch so if you're as hard up as I am to see Avatar, this little snack should hold you over til dinner is served on December 18th.
