Reitman might bust ghosts one more time
Looks like the Ghostbusters franchise is just a few crossed streams away from getting Ivan Reitman back in the director's proton pack, reprising his role on the first two films...from 20 years ago. Christ I'm getting old. While Reitman is tied to the film, apparently he's still a little unsure of whether he actually wants to direct or not, which to me says that even though Bloody Disgusting is 100% confirming their news that he will be on board, Reitman could still walk away if he's not feeling the script.
Without Reitman, it wouldn't quite be Ghostbusters. His sense of style, action and comedic timing are what made the originals what they are today and to not have him on board would be as big a blow as not having Bill Murray. So with any luck since it's being talked about now we'll get a concrete announcement pretty soon that we can throw into the ecto containment unit and forget about.
Also announced was that the script for Ghostbusters 3 will have the original Ghostbusters reopening their doors after years of being shut down. We already sort of knew that as previous reports had said that the gang would be training some newbs to not be 'fraid a no ghosts, but now we know they're coming out of retirement to do so.
I don't really care what goes on in this movie as long as it is good. I just want to see a true return to form from the cast, and an appearance of Rick Moranis and the lovely Janine (Sigourney has said "eff no" so don't get our hopes up). More on this as it unfolds.
