Adrien Brody is a Predator

No, not like Roman Polanski. Brody has been added to the billing for the Robert Rodriguez produced Predators that's supposed to hit theaters next summer. I know, right? Not exactly the man with a resume that says "Hey, I'm a bad mutha fuckah, son, and I'll whoop the ass of any alien freak that comes my way." Not unless your idea of an ass whoopin' alien killer is a lanky dude with a big nose and a bubbly demeanor.

Next on the weirdo casting announcements for this movie is Topher Grace who is in final talks right now to round out the ensemble that represent:

several of earth's "killers" who are kidnapped and dropped on the Predator's home planet for a game of hide, seek and be brutally murdered.  -Cinematical

Now, I don't know about you, but that sounds basically terrible. Sounds like Death Race in a jungle, or the Running Man, which would actually make for a cool reboot, but not Predator. Coming off of two TERRIBLE Alien vs. Predator films, the franchise needed something a little better than that.

Let's go back again and talk for a moment about Topher Grace. It's been proven that Topher Grace should not be involved in anything dramatic or involving any sort of action or badassery. I love Traffic, but didn't like him in it, and he was unbearable in Spiderman 3. Let's just keep him in his little niche with his In Good Company typecasting and forget that his name ever came up to play a serial killer in a movie about murderers who fight aliens.

The Predators team of "killers" already consists of Walton Goggins (of The Shield fame), Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (for the record, I tried typing that from memory and got as far as 'M' before I said fuck it and copy/pasted it from IMDB), Alice Braga, and the dean of Badass University Danny Trejo. With this crew looking the way it does, and with Adrien Brody on the top line I'd say this movie has a shot. He's not who I pictured as a replacement for Schwarzenegger's Dutch, but I trust his abilities.

Topher Grace, however, can just get the hell out of this genre in general.
