Dylan Baker confirmed for Spidey 4

You will probably not recognize Dylan Baker by name. He's always been sort of a 'that guy' popping up in movies here and there and rocking a lot of TV. But you would recognize him if you saw him and you'll especially recognize him as Dr. Connors, a character who Sam Raimi has gone to great lengths to include in each of the Spiderman films.

Presumably his consistency of appearance would denote that someday down the road we'd wind up seeing his super villain alter ego The Lizard come in to do battle with our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. And now the internet is abuzz due to the UGO Movie Blog reporting that at a recent screening of Trick 'r Treat, Baker confirmed that he would be appearing in the upcoming Spiderman installment, but also mentioned that it would be a very small part just like the rest of his roles.

This has me less excited than apparently every other fan boy who has an internet connection. Is he lying about the size of his role? Sure it's possible, but maybe he's not and he's still just going to be that guy that pops in with one sentence of sage advice for Peter once or twice throughout the film. Or maybe since we already know that there's going to be a Spiderman 5, Raimi will use Baker's appearance in 4 to set him up for 5. Who knows?

Until someone knows for sure what's up, I think I'll just chill out.

I'd be very, very happy to see them set Baker up for "Spider-Man 5" as The Lizard. Good call on that being a possibility! I always like to see movies bringing back old characters, even the small ones, to keep the story flowing.
