Jon Favreau on Avengers, Iron Man 2 set Visit
Possibly the saddest news of the day is that it has been confirmed by an interview at MTV that Jon Favreau, director of both Iron Man films, will NOT be back to take the helm of The Avengers. I know, right?! DEVASTATING! I'm joking. While Favreau hit a 600 ft. home run with the first Iron Man film, he's not the only person in the world who can make an action movie with the sort of pizzazz he brought to it.
People have been starting rumors for quite a while now in the hopes that with enough badgering Jon Favreau would give in and sign up for the job, but alas:
"They'll have to [find a different director], because I'm not going to be available," he explained. "It's something I'm being the executive producer on, so I'll definitely have input and a say."
So get out your trumpet and start playing Taps, because this rumor is officially dead. He'll have his genius fingers in the mixing bowl but he won't be the only one stirring.
On a lighter note though, Canal+ recently released a nice little behind-the-scenes piece from the set of Iron Man 2 including interviews with Favreau and Downey, showing off the new basement set from Tony Stark's estate. He built a particle accelerator. How fucking bad ass is that? Because smashing atoms together on a molecular level at the speed of light has got to be a good idea right?
Scope it out below and try to understand the crazy French host.
