Fall Movie Excitement! The Invention of Lying

Release: October 2nd

Tired of October 2nd releases yet? I sure as hell am since I don't have the money to go see 5 movies on one weekend. Rest assured that if I did have $50 to drop at the theater every weekend that my ass would be numb from so much sitting and being hypnotised by the wonders of film. I promise this is the last October 2nd release and that this is the most packed weekend on my list.

I'm only a little bit excited for The Invention of Lying and that excitement stems purely from it looking decently funny. Seeing the trailers roll out haven't helped quel my worry that the ending is just going to be a standard "OMG I guess I shouldn't be using lying to my advantage and now I have to apologize to the girl to win her back" sort of conclusion. Also, I'm one of the only people on the planet that doesn't just unconditionally love Ricky Gervais. I like him, that's for sure, but he's not on my "can do no wrong" list so he's going to have to prove himself to me here too.

The trailer does a great job of making this movie look funny so there's no doubt that I'll be seeing this with some of my Ricky Gervais fan friends, I may just not have quite as high of expectations as them.
